Mud Magnets!!!

The days are growing so much warmer here and it's been fun taking the kids out to blow bubbles and frolic around the compound! Although, I'm seriously beginning to think there is some kind of conspiracy going on out here! One involving DIRT, two 2year olds and a bottomless laundry basket! Coincidence? I think NOT!

I know what you're thinking....all kids get dirty! Well, unless you were blessed with children that are neat freaks or if you live in a concrete jungle! But honestly, I think my babies are really just innocent by-standers and the dirt just jumps out and grabs them. Let me explain before somebody grabs the phone and calls in an IVC to the local looney bin!

It starts out pretty innocent with a nice sunny day and the shoes! James and Cameron bring me their shoes and start pointing "soutside mommy"! I usually take too long gathering necessities so they stand at the door and yell " Go, Go, Go". When we get outside we set up shop at the picnic table and start blowing bubbles. This is much fun for all involved. The boys love to chase them down and me....well I just like to blow bubbles, what can I say? Then it happens, James falls victim to the Puddle Grab...........

See look it even took his shoe.....well, that leads to this........

Sneaking up on it, throwing rocks in it and.........

....RUN away!!!! And of course, Cameron had to investigate but he got too close so the Puddle took hold........

Just look at that innocent face........that's James back there prodding the Puddle to "Set him Free" or "Gimme my shoe", one or the other......

And he makes it out, finally, but then something VERY odd happens..........

Cameron starts acting like this..........

And this......... then they both go at it.......it's a terrible thing that Puddle has done to my sweet boys.

What's a mother to do? Really? Can anyone tell me?

Oh and by the way.....the Moral of this story is......Boys will be Boys and I'm still enjoying my new washer/dryer pair!

(Note: No Puddles were harmed in the making of this blog, as of yet no retribution has been taken against them and all shoes are present and accounted for.)

Great News........

This semester is almost over and my Haley-bug is coming home from her Nannie's! YAY! Haley has been on the coast for a couple of weeks now staying with her Nannie and as much as I know she enjoys it......I sure do miss the little troublemaker! (She's only a troublemaker when she's teaching the boys things that get them in trouble....that's the big sister for ya!) And of course, she misses her Mommy and Daddy and "tha Bubbas" as she calls them. I've talk to her alot on the phone and she has taken to singing me songs from movies! It's really cute! Anyway, she will be home on the 2nd, so she will be here for my birthday and for Mother's Day! I'm so excited!
Speaking of excitement, this semester is almost over! Woohoo! My final exam is on the 5th. I will be so relieved to be done with the semester.....of course I'll be ready to start the next semester within a few days time! Microbiology for the summer.......yummy! I really do love school!
Okay, it's late and I'm beginning to ramble so post more later!

Not so Cute and Cuddly......

In this part of the country we have many different kinds of animals and critters, some big and dangerous while others are small and fuzzy. It's nice to see the deer that sometimes wander into our backyards and all the birds that flit in and out of trees and bushes. But lately I'm quite agitated with one of our more fuzzy friends...the rabbit.

Remember, those pretty orange tulips I posted a picture of a few weeks back? Well, they are no longer there. There used to be about 30 of those blooms outside but now they have been eaten down to nubs. They have also demolished some of my Rembrandts....needless to say me and the rabbits aren't on very good terms right now. I mean honestly, why can't they chew on the grasses I haven't had a chance to get with the weedeater? Yes, I know that the bulbs will come back next year (and will have a small fence around them, mind you) but I barely had time to enjoy them.

I really wanted you all to see the Rembrandts so I pulled a few out from last year. I was going to take a picture of the destruction but I figured they would too disturbing for all the flower lovers out there.

Anyway, here they are in all there glory....last year!

Okay so this is the only picture I could get uploaded......not very focused but at least you can see what I'm talking about! I think Rembrandt would be proud of these babies!

Something we don't see everyday.....even around here!

I was on my way to school on Monday and this is what I saw:

Not normal by the way......I had to stop for a second and double-check my surroundings. Then I realized I was still in my Jeep (not a wagon) and I still had my cell phone (life-support) and I was safe so I continued to school and made a mental note to check the Digital Courier for more info. And here's the story:

Oregon rancher Bill Inman and his thoroughbred quarterhorse, Blackie, left Oregon last June and headed East on a trek he calls "Uncovering America by Horseback". Two deputies met him at the Rutherford County line and escorted him out Hwy 108 and into the Ruth township where Mr. Inman stayed the night. He is accompanied by his wife and son, neither of which are making the trip on horseback. Their cross-country voyage will end next month when they reach Washington, D.C. where Inman wants to share is story with our Nation's Leaders.

Mr. Inman took the time to share some his experiences with our local newspaper on Tuesday morning before he and Blackie said "Farewell" to Rutherford County and rode off into the distance.

Okay People, honestly, how awesome would that be? To ride across the country on horseback, living life like they did back in the day? I wonder if he's had to shovel any POO along the way? I'm sure they don't take kindly to that sort of thing in some places!

Above is a picture that Shellie took of one of the deputies, Julie Davis! She's a long time friend of the family! Awesome!
